Events map
On the map you can find name of all the organisations participating in the Equal Day event. The map is a visual showcase of all the participants from different countries.
Amazing Equal Day events in countries all over the world
What could be more powerful than this map showcasing the incredible success of the first edition of Equal Day on March 20, 2025?
A total of 135 events were registered worldwide, each serving as a beacon of unity and equality. In response to our call, 135 candles were lit—symbolizing our shared commitment to peace through the lens of astronomy.
Perhaps the only thing that can rival this image is the sight of stars reflected in the eyes of the organisers and participants—especially children—who joined these events, whether in person, via Zoom, or through the various gatherings that you can check on our page.
A huge thank you to every NAEC, NOC, teacher, and astronomy enthusiast who answered this call. You turned this vision into a true success.
Organisations shared the events on social media (FB or Insta) with a hashtag #equalday2025 or taged the pages @equalday on FB or @equaldayevent on Insta and we have collected them, reshared them and added some here on the webpage.
We are sorry we couldn't share all of them on the webpage but one can find them all on our FB and instagram pages.

Three zoom meetings were held where participants presented their events
Equal Day Celebration at Scoil Fhursa, Ireland
Our Senior Infants boys had a fantastic time celebrating Equal Day! They created beautiful stars and designed a stunning galaxy and Milky Way over our school. One of the highlights was joining a global Zoom meeting with schools and classes from around the world, where we connected through our shared love of the sky. The boys were especially amazed to learn that everyone, no matter where they are, looks up and sees the same stars—an idea that perfectly captures the spirit of Equal Day! (And yes, during the spring equinox, people across the world experience nearly equal hours of day and night, and many of the same stars are visible in shared night skies.) We loved being part of this event and learned so much! |

During the global event EqualDay organized on the 20th of March 2025, which was dedicated to promoting peace and equity through astronomy, the Space Chat initiative published a video in which light was shed on the role of astronomy, including meteoritics and planetary science, in showing the place of humans in the universe and how they are very small compared to the vastness of the cosmos. The objective of the video was to take the audience on a journey to space, as well as to show them that peace, equity, and diversity are our only way to ensure our survival in this tiny space rock we call Earth.

Our song “I’ll be the voice” («Θα γίνω φωνή») promotes the attitude of the active citizen, who defends the weak from being subjected to violence, who objects to the intimidation of those who are different and eventually becomes the voice of any individual in need!
We completed our song against violence, recorded it in a home studio, premiered it live at our school (A’ Arsakeio Lykeio Phychiko). After securing the rights and filming a video clip, we uploaded it to the main website of the Philekpaideuftiki Society and have begun promoting it on both social and mass media. We hope you enjoy our song "I’ll be a voice". Responsible teachers: Georgia- Athanasia Drillia, Paraskevi Chandanou Pupils that participate: Michaela Kasti, Konstantinos Iliopoulos, Georgios Nikolis, Nikolaos Karantzalos, Eugenia Lignadi, Panagiotis Kotsifas, Dimitrios Stavrakas, Agapi Mischou, Melina Koufogeorga, Hantze Tsou, Kalisto Hasioti, Fragiski Kalfoglou, Kleio Oikonomou |

I WILL BECOME A VOICE Fists on the wall, screams in the dark Eyes that fade, souls in the mark Words that cut like blades so deep In a society that lives blind, asleep Chorus 1 I won’t close my eyes, I won’t stay silent I’ll become a voice, I’ll become a pulse In every mark, in every wound I’ll stretch out my hands, I’ll be there Verse 2 Streets full of fear and blood Bodies bow down, they have no one The world shouts, but who cares? The truth remains hidden deep Chorus 2 I won’t close my eyes, I won’t stay silent I’ll become a voice, I’ll become a pulse In every mark, in every wound I’ll stretch out my hands, I’ll be there Bridge Her shadow is everywhere Her touch is heartless As if I am to blame For not wanting her turn Everyone in the world accepts her And me asking Maybe this is the problem And not me who’s in pain Home, school in the front line Color, love, body Everything that’s different in the world This is what crowd hates And the other did it, “yes” to “stop” Wipes her tears Because he didn’t respect Her body and will Children in rooms Close their ears and eyes Not to read other comments And break into pieces Chorus 3 I won’t close my eyes, I won’t stay silent I’ll become a voice, I’ll become a pulse In every mark, in every wound I’ll stretch out my hands, I’ll be there |
As part of this global movement, The Astronomical Society of Malta and the Road-STEAMer Project participated in one of the 134 simultaneous events held worldwide, at St Clare College Dun Anton Manchè Gżira Primary School, where they organised the Equal Day event. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the Earth's rotation and the day-night cycle, encourage scientific and critical thinking, and help them explore our solar system.

March 20 is the Equinox Day, whose name evokes the day equal to the night. It's the beginning of Spring, a time of hope. In a world often torn apart by conflict, the Equal Day becomes a beacon of hope, showing that harmony is possible.
Let us join our hands and prove that a united world under the same sky can thrive in peace and mutual respect. We signed this message of Peace at Prof Elementary School. Arthur Nunes Vidal (#AEAS) |
EqualDay 2025 event held with the teachers and students of Hakkı Dereköylü Fine Arts High School in Denizli, Turkey, including astronomy and peace-themed paintings created by our students and a presentation by Tahsin Demirciler.
Queria deixar aqui minha gratidão por me aceitarem e deixarem fazer parte deste gracioso projeto, e salientar atividade do passado dia 20-3-25 (Equalday).

When astronomy and mathematics lead us to the stars
Grade 3 students have made a fascinating science experiment combining astronomy and math.
Using a black tube with a slit and lime paper, they measured the diameter of the sun's shadow .
By applying Thalès' theorem préc, they were able to accurately estimate the actual diameter of the Sun.
Next, using a em telescope, they observed the sunspots and determined their size based on the diameter of the Sun found earlier.
This experiment shows how mathematics and astronomy allows us to explore and understand our universe .
